Power core aeration is one of the most important cultural practices available for your lawn.  Aeration helps control thatch and soil compaction.  This occurs by creating pockets for new roots and opens the way for water and fertilizer to get into the root zone of your lawn.  All of which translates into a greener, thicker lawn to enjoy all season long.

How Aeration Works

Aeration removes thousands of small cores of soil 1" to 2 " in length from your lawn.  These cores "melt" back into the lawn after a few rainfalls, replinishing the micro-nutrients.  The holes created by aeration catch fertilizer and water.  Turf roots naturally grow toward these pockets and thicken in the process,  Aeration holes also relieve pressure from compacted soils, letting oxygen and water move freely into the root zone.

Who Needs Aeration?

1. People with hard compacted lawns
2. Lawns that have children playing or dogs that are wearing down the grass
3. Lawns that have poor drainage or slope areas
4. New homes which had heavy equipment on lot during construction
5. People who feel their grass is not thick enough in direct sun areas

The cost is 2.5 times the price of your regular treatment for the same area sprayed.  Or if you are interested in doing it yourself a 1/2 day rental from Dixie Rents costs $80.  Either way we strongly suggest that you aerate your lawn.
